NEW A MUSE STUDIO CHALLENGE UP!

This weeks challenge over on the A Muse|Studio Challenge blog is up! The challenge this week is to use dimension on your card....since I love using pop dots and foam to pop things up on my cards I chose them to add dimension to my card....I created this one for the challenge, using the new pebble card stock rom the holiday catalog. I love this color, it is so versatile, and I think it adds an elegant touch to the navy.

Here are the directions and the list of all the materials I used, all my materials are A Muse|Studio, and can be found in my online web store where you can order direct, or if you prefer, drop me an email and I can assist and order it for you.

I used the pebble card stock for the card base, and using the Nestabilities Labels One, I cut one large label out of Navy, and one smaller label out of pebble. I stamped the frame with navy ink on the smaller pebble label using the stamp positioned, and then stamped the thank you stamp inside the stamped frame with the stamp positioned. I put twinkle stickers 3 on one side, 2 on the other on the sides of the stamped frame. I used the Sakura Quickie glue pen on the top and bottom tear drops, and sprinkled with diamond glitter. Then I adhered the larger label to the card base using 3D mount foam, and then using the 3 D foam mount attached the stamped pebble label on top of the navy label. I tied a bow around the top of the card using satin navy ribbon. Easy and quick card that looks very elegant. Thanks for stopping by and visiting. Now hop on over to the challenge blog and post one of your own! You could win an awesome prize!!!

NEXT CHALLENGE, DIRTY JOBS!

For the next challenge the reality show was Dirty Jobs......and we had to use ink or paint all over our layout. I decided on ink. I used A Muse|Studio French Roast ink to ink all the edges of the pieces and the background PP. The PP and the embellishments are Storyteller's Club kit.....blue CS is Bazzill. Thanks for looking!

Well, Storytellers is down, but I want to keep up with my challenges, this one was due tonight, LA INK challenge, to use Rubons on your scrapbook page.

My rubon is the flower in the middle of the page, on the blue square. All the embellishments are ST from the April 2011 kit, as well as the background CS being ST, blue is Bazzill. Thanks for looking!

MAY 9TH COLOR SPLASH CHALLENGE

For our May 9th challenge, we were to use a base of green, and add one other color and to use 3 squares. The squares are kind of small, I used 3 square gold brads on the tag.....this was a Storytellers Club kit from December 2006! And of course I just had to add a Tim Holtz rosette, I love that Sizzix die....I dressed it up with some course gold glass glitter. A couple ribbons......love it! Thanks for looking!!

MAY 8THSCRAPBOOK CHALLENGE

Today's challenge was based on the reality show 19 Kids and Counting.......to use a number in our title.......I hate to admit, this picture of me, in first grade......I don't look much different, just older and a little chubbier......LOL I used a Storyteller Club kit and some prima flowers and MM brads. The letters were cut using the MM slice card Vintage Findings. Cardstock Recollections. Thanks for looking!!

THE LAST TWO NATIONAL SCRAPBOOK DAY PAGES....

Well, I have finally gotten all my National Scrapbook Day Layouts done.

The next challenge I tackled was Addicted. We were to scrap some item in our scrapbook stash that we are totally addicted to, something we have tons and tons of and just can't resist. The item should be obvious when you look at the layout. I think this one fits the bill!

The last challenge I did was one that I have spent the last 3 days thinking of, trying to imagine how I was going to portray this theme. It is Mythbusters. The challenge was to scrap a page using Greek or Architectural influences. I sure hope that this one fits the bill......I used a greek ionic column to "rest" my mother's photo on. The photo was one of my Mother's High School senior portraits. What a beauty!!!

MORE NATIONAL SCRAPBOOK DAY LAYOUTS

I have been gradually working through all the National Scrapbook Day challenges posted over at Storytellers Club. There were 6 layout challenges in total, plus a few games.

American Idol Challenge was to use the Idol colors, red white and blue. The perfect opportunity to scrap this picture of John's dad, taken about 1935, when he was in the Coldstream Guards, doing duty at the Tower of London. While I was scrapping this picture I decided to do a little research on the uniform his dad is wearing. The Coldstream Guards jacket has gold buttons, in pairs. Other guards have their buttons single file. Another way to differentiate between the regiments is by the color of the plume on the bearskin hat, as well as the side the plume is on....who knew all these things were clues to identifying regiments?

Next up, Cupcake Wars. To use a cupcake on your page, and the word "sweet" in the title or journaling. This Storytellers Club kit was perfect for this challenge!

Raising Sextuplets was my next page. The challenge was to raise 6 items up off the page. I thought that since my sweet godchild is going to be getting married this summer, I better catch up on getting some of her pictures scrapped.....this was her First Communion. Isn't she sweet??

Only 2 more layouts to go for my NSD challenges, guess they will have to wait till tomorrow.....think I am all scrapped out for today!!! Thanks for looking!

IT'S MOTHER'S DAY!! ANOTHER LO FOR MY MOTHER'S PRESENT!

I have always loved this picture of my dad, taken when he was 10 years old. It is one of the only pictures we have of him when he was a child. I love how this came out, but I say that about all my pages......I used a Storytellers kit from February 2011 and my MM Slice Vintage Findings card . Thanks for looking! And Happy Mother's Day everyone!!!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY...MAY 6TH CHALLENGE

The May 6th challenge was a sketch challenge.....I decided to scrap pictures of my mother and I at the same age......I totally love how this LO came out.....as hard as it is to part with, I am giving it to my mother for Mother's Day, I think that she will love it!

MAY SCRAPPING DAYS MAY 4TH AND 5TH

May 4th the challenge was to only use nature photographs, no people. I happen to take a lot of pictures of my flowers, and they have been beautifully blooming this spring, and spent several different days photographing them. I had lots of great photos to choose from. I love being able to showcase them in my scrapbook pages.

The May 5th challenge was to use lyrics from the song "You Make Me Smile" by Uncle Kracker. I chose the line "you make me smile like the sun" and naturally it is a picture of the person in my life who makes me smile every day!!

Thanks for looking!!

MAY SCRAPPING DAYS MAY 3RD

Today's challenge was to use only card stock, adhesive and photos. So I created PP using ST CS, and Tim Holtz's Tattered Flowers Sizzix die. I cut the flowers from ST CS, and then made some PP by scattering them around. I cut the letters for the title using the Sizzix Carnivale die. I think it came out pretty cute! Especially with that smiley little face of Gail's.......my sweet godchild who is all grown up and getting married this summer.....where did all those years go by???

Well it is time for May Scrapping Days over at Storytellers Club, a month of scrapping fun with daily challenges and fun and games as well.

Striped paper and PP boarder and tag Storytellers Club. Grass Polka Dot and Grass Gingham and ribbons A Muse|Studio.

The May 2nd Challenge was to use 24 of one item and 7 of another. I used 24 little bling, and 7 brads. Storytellers Club PP and red CS. I made a rosette using Tim tissue tape and a button from the dollar bins at Michael's.
