THE LAST TWO NATIONAL SCRAPBOOK DAY PAGES....

Well, I have finally gotten all my National Scrapbook Day Layouts done.

The next challenge I tackled was Addicted. We were to scrap some item in our scrapbook stash that we are totally addicted to, something we have tons and tons of and just can't resist. The item should be obvious when you look at the layout. I think this one fits the bill!

The last challenge I did was one that I have spent the last 3 days thinking of, trying to imagine how I was going to portray this theme. It is Mythbusters. The challenge was to scrap a page using Greek or Architectural influences. I sure hope that this one fits the bill......I used a greek ionic column to "rest" my mother's photo on. The photo was one of my Mother's High School senior portraits. What a beauty!!!

MORE NATIONAL SCRAPBOOK DAY LAYOUTS

I have been gradually working through all the National Scrapbook Day challenges posted over at Storytellers Club. There were 6 layout challenges in total, plus a few games.

American Idol Challenge was to use the Idol colors, red white and blue. The perfect opportunity to scrap this picture of John's dad, taken about 1935, when he was in the Coldstream Guards, doing duty at the Tower of London. While I was scrapping this picture I decided to do a little research on the uniform his dad is wearing. The Coldstream Guards jacket has gold buttons, in pairs. Other guards have their buttons single file. Another way to differentiate between the regiments is by the color of the plume on the bearskin hat, as well as the side the plume is on....who knew all these things were clues to identifying regiments?

Next up, Cupcake Wars. To use a cupcake on your page, and the word "sweet" in the title or journaling. This Storytellers Club kit was perfect for this challenge!

Raising Sextuplets was my next page. The challenge was to raise 6 items up off the page. I thought that since my sweet godchild is going to be getting married this summer, I better catch up on getting some of her pictures scrapped.....this was her First Communion. Isn't she sweet??

Only 2 more layouts to go for my NSD challenges, guess they will have to wait till tomorrow.....think I am all scrapped out for today!!! Thanks for looking!

IT'S MOTHER'S DAY!! ANOTHER LO FOR MY MOTHER'S PRESENT!

I have always loved this picture of my dad, taken when he was 10 years old. It is one of the only pictures we have of him when he was a child. I love how this came out, but I say that about all my pages......I used a Storytellers kit from February 2011 and my MM Slice Vintage Findings card . Thanks for looking! And Happy Mother's Day everyone!!!

MAY SCRAPPING DAYS MAY 4TH AND 5TH

May 4th the challenge was to only use nature photographs, no people. I happen to take a lot of pictures of my flowers, and they have been beautifully blooming this spring, and spent several different days photographing them. I had lots of great photos to choose from. I love being able to showcase them in my scrapbook pages.

The May 5th challenge was to use lyrics from the song "You Make Me Smile" by Uncle Kracker. I chose the line "you make me smile like the sun" and naturally it is a picture of the person in my life who makes me smile every day!!

Thanks for looking!!

MAY SCRAPPING DAYS MAY 3RD

Today's challenge was to use only card stock, adhesive and photos. So I created PP using ST CS, and Tim Holtz's Tattered Flowers Sizzix die. I cut the flowers from ST CS, and then made some PP by scattering them around. I cut the letters for the title using the Sizzix Carnivale die. I think it came out pretty cute! Especially with that smiley little face of Gail's.......my sweet godchild who is all grown up and getting married this summer.....where did all those years go by???
