A MUSE CHALLENGE #26

This weeks challenge was pocket cards.....I have been thinking about it most of the week....I so love my new Rocket and To the Moon stamps, as well as the Spots one too! So I had this wonderful epiphany this morning......why not make the rocket shoot up the card?? I had so much fun constructing this card!! Hope you like it....I am going to give it to my Sweetheart!!

Here is the card with the moon near the Earth....

And now here it is with the rocket up to the moon!
Here's a little tutorial on how I made my card....it's the first tutorial I have written, I hope it is logical and understandable!! I would appreciate any feedback on how easy it is to follow. I selected a coffee colored a muse 4 bar card as my "pocket, and some light blue marbelized CS for the tag and the oval. I also used a small piece of blue vellum and transparent vellum
I did a little cut out at the bottom left of the card, stamped the spot stamp on some blue vellum with Brown StazOn ink, and adhered it to the back of the card with double sided tape.  I stamped the spots on transparent vellum with blue Versamark ink.  I then punched a circle out of light blue marbled CS for the tag for the pocket, and adhered it behind the opening.  I punched the oval out of the same light blue marbleized CS. I stamped the Love you to the Moon saying in the upper right portion of the card. The rocket was stamped on white CS, and colored in with black Spica pen and a blue Gel Writerz pen. I cut the circle out of the rocket, and pasted a picture of me in the window. I cut the rocket out, and then I attached it to the marbelized blue oval, and drew in the rocket smoke on the blue marbelized CS with the glitter pens.  For the slide function, I determined where I wanted the rocket to travel up the card and marked it, then I cut a slit in the front of the 4 bar card along the line I marked, I widened it to allow my brad to slide up and down easily without it being too wide so the brad would wobble in the tract. I put a brad through the oval under the tail of the rocket so that it doesn't show, then I slipped it through the slit in the front of the card, then punched a small hole in the tag and put the brad through the tag and secured it. You now have a tag/card/oval sandwich. The oval should slide up and down easy through the slit,  I then attached the ribbon at the top of the tag with a small white brad. I took a small piece of double sided foam tape and attached it to the inside of the picket right below the bottom of the tag in the "down" position. This makes the tag have a little more room to move in the pocket.  Then I taped the sides of the card with double sided tape, making sure that the tag had clearance to slide in and out comfortabley. I ten used stickels ice blue glitter on my "spot" Earth, and some copper glitter along the bottom of the card for a little extra sparkle.  One thing I did before using my a muse notecard and good CS was I did a mock up of the card in white CS to determine placement of the brad, the slit and size of he tag needed. This helped make the final construction a little smoother.

A MUSE CHALLENGE #25

Another challenge, this week was for window cards (silly me, I made one last week for one of my Hip to Be Square cards for challenge # 24, not realizing I would be doing them for this week!!)

Love You To The Moon and Back
I cut the window, outlined it with my Black Spica pen (yes, I LOVE these pens!!) then I mounted a vellum with glitter in it behind, stamped the rocket on the inside of the card, colored it in with my spicas .....then I took a different vellum, and stmaped the spotted square in brown colorbox chalk, and cut it out with a circle punch. Stamped the Love You to the Moon and Back on the front of the card...I used a DCWV card that I cut down....

Love Blooms
I stamped Love Blooms on a printed vellum, (American Crafts Blossom) and cut it out with the giga Marvy Scalloped circle, then mounted it on a mega circle punched out of a pink a muse card. I drew in the stem and leaves. I cut a little window with a circle punch, and stamped the 3 little flowers from an a muse acrylic set. I traced around the edge of the window with a pink Spica pen....and drew in the stems and leaves. Inside I also cut out 2 scallop squares (mega size) out of pink polka dot pp and stamped the 3 flowers in the upper left and lower right corners...mounted one in the upper left of the inside, adn one in the lower right of the inside...I really should ahve scanned the inside in...maybe I will add it tomorrow....

Thanks for looking!

A MUSE CHALLENGE # 23

Ok, so I am a little late posting this, but better late than never I say! I did have it all done, but then I ended up going shopping....and totally forgot after I scanned my card to post it up....yup, I'm bad!!! LOL!!! TFL!!

I used our Linden Tree as my inspiration:

and then, for my card, I used the Embellish Tree....

You can't see it too well, but I did use glitter on the card, to be sparkly snow...I inked the edges of the heart and the edge of the DCWV PP...and added a little a muse ribbon embellishment to finish it off....Marvy giga scallop oval punch and mega oval punch, heart Sizzix die. Card is DCWV.

A MUSE CHALLENGE # 22

Well, this weeks challenge was for Multi-Purpose stamps, to use an image in a way that it may not have originally been intended for.... so after thinking about it for almost a week, I was rummaging through my a muse bin of stamps hoping for an idea to pop out, and I ran across Boris, and thought "ohh..... mad....hmmmmm......mad about you....Mad for your love.....Mad about your love!!" So here he is, appearing on Valentine's Day, instead of hanging around till Halloween! I think my Sweetie will love it!!! After all, it's not too girlie!! I think Boris looks good in pink!! LOL!

I cut an oval out of pink mulberry paper, and then stamped Boris with black Stazon ink, colored him in with my Gelwritersx pens, the glitter ones, and then frayed the edges of the mulberry paper. I covered a pink jewel heart by Colorbok with Stickles Diamond glitter, and stuck it over the test tube, and used the stickles to highlight Boris's labcoat buttons, and then put glitter spewing out the test tube and beaker. Then I mounted him to a white oval the same size as the mulberry, and then foam mounted the oval to a deeper pink scalloped oval, then attached it to a pink argyle a muse notecard...tied a pink a muse ribbon around it, and hand wrote "mad about your love" in a black glitter Gelwritersx pen. I really love how it came out. TFL!!

MAKE IT GREAT IN 2008!! HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!

I hope that everyone has a healthy, happy and prosperous New Year, with lots of creativity, scrapping and stamping!!! Thanks for reading my blog everyone! Stay tuned for lots of cards, LOs and photos while I "Make It Great in 2008!" That's going to be my motto for the year! Check out this picture of Morgan and Me, taken last night, Morgan made these cute little masks for us to wear while toasting in 2008! I feel another shadowbox taking shape!! The mask would be just too hard to incorporate into a SB page, and will look so cute up on the wall, reminding me of all the fun we had, and the hopefulness and expectations for the New Year!
